UNDATED (KNTU/AP) Twelve people were killed and 31 were wounded when a gunman opened fire on the Fort Hood Army base outside Killeen around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, according to U.S. Army officials.

Early reports of three shooters being involved was corrected by Lt. Gen. Bob Cone in an evening news conference.
