Weekday afternoons during the Late Edition, 88.1 The One brings you advice for healthier living with Family Health.A daily series of two-and-a-half minute radio programs, Family Health provides practical, easy-to-understand, honest health information on common health problems and the latest health care developments. As it becomes easier for all of us to access information, more and more of us are beginning to understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle. However, in our search for health related information, we are often overwhelmed by the technical jargon used by medical professionals. That's where Family Health comes in. Since first airing in 1981, Family Health has grown to encompass a network of 225 radio stations and reaches 11 million listeners daily in the U.S. In addition, the series is heard worldwide on the U.S. Armed Forces Radio Network. The series is a service of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Telecommunications Center at Ohio University. The host of Family Health is Harold C. Thompson III, D.O., an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. A graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Thompson previously practiced as a family physician in Nelsonville, Ohio. He also has served as the director of OU-COM's Center of Excellence in Multicultural Medicine. Click here to visit the show's web site. |
